The “Sold Out” signs are up for this year’s edition of the Euro Steel Drak Descent Mountain Bike events and Euro Steel Run the Rivers Trail Run. Race Organisers, Sani Spoors are thrilled with the huge entry response and excited to accommodate all participants this weekend, the 1st & 2nd of February.

Race Director, Derek Christie commented, “The entries have exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled to be hosting everyone in Underberg, the gem of the Southern Drakensberg.” The event will draw more than 4000 people into the area who will be involved in three different sporting events happening over the weekend. There is a canoeing event, the mountain bike race and a trail run, both over 2 days. Most establishments are fully booked and Underberg will be a hive of activity.

One of the major attractions for this weekend is the FNB Drak Adventure Music Experience, held at the Underberg Country Club, on Saturday the 1st February. This free concert for all event participants is open to members of the public who can purchase tickets at the door, or from and enjoy some of South Africa’s top music artists, with the headline act being the world famous Prime Circle.

The sporting events combined with the Music Festival has proved to be a winning formula attracting both corporate sponsors and the public. Late entries for the Drak Challenge Canoe race, MTB Challenge and Trail Run are available which can be processed at their respective registrations.

Euro Steel, long term partners to the events, have increased their involvement into the Trail Run this year, much to the delight of Euro Steel CEO Colin Wilson who commented, “We’re so happy to have full fields for all the events and congratulate everyone involved to get to this point. We look forward to hosting all athletes, while providing exceptional experiences for everyone. We are grateful for the massive effort of the Sani Spoors team and we are sure the weekend will be a winner in all ways.”
